Jewar Airport Launch Amplifies Demand for Yamuna Expressway Residential Corridor

Noida International Airport commenced flight operations on 15 June 2026, with an IndiGo flight landing from Lucknow. The opening of the greenfield facility marks a structural inflection point for the Yamuna Expressway's most premium residential addresses, particularly Sector 22D in Greater Noida.

Airport Proximity Strengthens Market Fundamentals

Sector 22D is a YEIDA-planned residential sector on the Yamuna Expressway, Greater Noida — approximately 10 minutes from Noida International Airport. Sector 22D is firmly inside the 10-minute zone from Noida International Airport, a radius that airport-corridor analysts identify as the primary appreciation pocket in any greenfield hub development.

The airport is intended to complement Indira Gandhi International Airport as part of the Delhi-NCR region's dual-airport system. In its first phase, the airport has one runway and one passenger terminal with a capacity of 12 million passengers annually.

Flights to Amritsar and Hyderabad will begin on June 15, followed by Bengaluru and Jammu on June 16. A broader expansion phase from July 1 will add destinations including Navi Mumbai, Bhopal, Dehradun, Jodhpur and Bareilly.

Regional Connectivity and Developer Positioning

IndiGo's decision to become the launch carrier highlights the strategic importance of Jewar Airport. With direct connections planned to major metro cities such as Bengaluru and Hyderabad, along with key Tier-II and Tier-III destinations, the airline is positioning the airport as a significant domestic aviation hub.

Noida residents enjoy the shortest drive to DXN because the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway flows directly onto the Yamuna Expressway. Phase II: 30 MPPA, FY31-FY32 operation period. Phase III: 50 MPPA, FY36-FY37 operation period. Phase IV: 70 MPPA, FY40-FY50 operation period.
